Spring

• Hittaut orientering - is a free fitness activity where you use a map (on paper or in the app) to find checkpoints. There are checkpoints in four different difficulty levels and they are located in urban environments, parks, residential areas and forests near urban areas. Find out more at orientering.se. • Valborgs celebration at Falun Mine during the 30th of April - a tradition that goes back a long way in Sweden. On Valborgs, we celebrate that spring has arrived and winter has “rumbled away.” Enjoy choir singing and a large bonfire.
• During the easter holiday (April) there are various activities to explore in and around Falun.
• Swedish Ski Games (Svenska skidspelen) during February - is an annual cross-country skiing competition event in Sweden.

Summer

• All summer there is a special city guided tours program that includes also cycling and puddling.
• Summer cafés are open in all estate gardens.
• Swedish National Day at Falun Mine on the 6th of June.
• During all summer there is a larger selection of exhibitions and other programs at Falun Mine
• Tusen trädgårdar - Sweden's largest garden exhibition. For one day, dozens of garden lovers from all over the country open their gardens to curious guests. Autumn

• World Heritage days during September - have been created to gain a greater understanding and create greater interest and commitment to the Falun World Heritage Site. During the days, doors that are normally closed to the public are opened, and visitors hear stories that have not been told so many times.
• Stora Stöten Run - A fantastic running race in Falun, Dalarna. Along the course, participants will run past medieval cabin sites, beautiful miners' estates, dams and dam houses in a distinctive Nordic nature. Find out more at storastotenrun.nu. Länk till annan webbplats, öppnas i nytt fönster.
• Skördemarknad på Stabergs - an autumn market in Staberg where you will find quality crafts, local food, vegetables and plants that are grown in the garden.
• During the autumn holidays in October, there are many activities to explore in and around Falun.

Winter

• Christmas market at Falun Mine - on the second Sunday of Advent, exhibitors and thousands of visitors gather at the mining area to experience the Christmas spirit.
• Lucia celebration below the ground at Falun Mine - magical concert when the Music Conservatory leads a Lucia procession through the dark corridors of the mine.
• Advent calendar at Östanfors - each December in Östanförs there is an advent calendar shown in windows. Take an evening walk for a magical experience.
• During Christmas break in December there are many more activities to explore in and around Falun.
